We know that many Marylander's are too, which is why our Service in Action newsletter highlights the commitment people make each day to creating stronger communities. Our newsletter also strives to provide you with unique volunteer opportunities happening in and nearby Maryland. Have a story to share? 2013 Service in Action Newsletters
The fall edition of the Service in Action newsletter invites you to celebrate with us as the GOSV recognizes the 27 recipients of the Governor's Service Awards! This edition also includes an introduction toe the new GOSV Director, Cassi Champion, a sample of holiday guides from volunteer centers around Maryland, and two Stories of Service highlighting AmeriCorps members in Maryland.
In the summer edition of the Service in Action newsletter read about the ending of the successful 2012-2013 AmeriCorps year and a Story of Service from a 2012 Community Art Collaborative AmeriCorps member. The issue also includes a spotlight on the 2nd Annual Day to Serve, and a celebratory announcement highlighting the Corporate Volunteer Council of Montgomery County being named the Corporate Volunteer Council of the Year by Points of Light.
The spring edition of the Service in Action newsletter invites you to recognize volunteers across the State by nominating them for the Governor's Service Awards. Additionally, the newsletter also highlights two upcoming events - National Get Outdoors Day and the National Conference on Volunteering and Service. Finally, find out how AmeriCorps Works by reading the AIM for Excellence Story of Service.
The new Service in Action newsletter kicks off by highlighting volunteer opportunities, Random Acts of Kindness Week, and a story from a ShoreCorps PALS AmeriCorps member. The newsletter also asks you to save the date for AmeriCorps week, starting on March 9, 2013.
