Purpose of our Office

The Department of Service and Civic Innovation’s Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism is part of the Maryland State Service Commission. Our primary mission is to promote service through recognition, provide training and allocate resources to AmeriCorps programs that enrich lives and communities through service and volunteerism. We accomplish this mission through our work with AmeriCorps programs and members throughout the state of Maryland.

Maryland AmeriCorps Notice of Funding Opportunities 

AmeriCorps State and National awards grants to organizations to engage individuals in sustained service to address local, regional, and national challenges. Thousands of opportunities exist in locations across the country to serve with nonprofits, schools, public agencies, tribes, and community and faith-based groups. 

Most AmeriCorps grant funding goes to the Governor-appointed State Service Commission, which in turn awards grants to organizations to respond to local needs.

Funding Opportunity Title:  Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) AmeriCorps State and National Operational Grants

This notice is for current & prospective AmeriCorps Maryland grantees of the MD GOSV applying for formula consideration for 2025-2026 AmeriCorps Maryland (AmeriCorps State) grants. These grants are awarded to organizations that propose to place AmeriCorps members in service solely within Maryland. Selected organizations will receive grants to support AmeriCorps member positions that engage members in service to meet critical needs in Maryland.

The actual level, timing, and process of grant funding will be subject to the availability of annual appropriations.
