Purpose of our Office

The Department of Service and Civic Innovation’s Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism is part of the Maryland State Service Commission. Our primary mission is to promote service through recognition, provide training and allocate resources to AmeriCorps programs that enrich lives and communities through service and volunteerism. We accomplish this mission through our work with AmeriCorps programs and members throughout the state of Maryland.

The Inspector General for AmeriCorps, the FBI, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office are committed to investigating and prosecuting individuals who defraud the AmeriCorps program and programs under the CARES Act.
