Maryland AmeriCorps State Grants
The Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism administers annual federal funding for AmeriCorps State grants in Maryland. Grants are used for service activities that address critical community needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment.

The Governor’s Office of Service and Volunteerism (GOSV) provides funding to support the development and operations of programs that engage individuals in direct service to address critical needs across Maryland.

Current Funding Opportunities
Current Grantees | Funding Opportunity Title: Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) AmeriCorps State and National Grants
This Notice is for current AmeriCorps Maryland grantees applying for 2024-2025 AmeriCorps Maryland (AmeriCorps State) grants. These grants are awarded to organizations that propose to place AmeriCorps members in service solely within Maryland. Selected organizations will receive grants to support AmeriCorps member positions that engage members in service to meet critical needs in Maryland.
The Maryland Commission anticipates posting a Notice for New applicants by mid-September. Organizations interested in applying for AmeriCorps funding for the first time can sign-up for funding notifications HERE.
Disclosure: Publication of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (Notice) does not obligate AmeriCorps to award any specific number of grants or to commit any amount of funding. The actual level, timing, and process of grant funding will be subject to the availability of annual appropriations.

Fall 2023 AmeriCorps Planning Grants
The Governor’s Office of Service and Volunteerism is proud to announce a funding opportunity for organizations interested in planning a new AmeriCorps program. Planning grant funding allows an organization to devote the time and staff needed to develop a plan for a viable AmeriCorps program.
Successful applicants will work with the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism from Fall 2023 – August 2024 to develop a new AmeriCorps program.
Eligible organizations can apply for planning grants of up to $100,000 with the ability to expand up to $240,000 for those organizations that have projects that closely align with the Governors’ strategic priorities: climate, education, public safety, and public health.

The federal agency that oversees AmeriCorps directly funds AmeriCorps VISTA and other national service programs and initiatives.
