The Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism is proud to have partnered once again with the Banneker-Douglass Museum to honor the contributions and accomplishments of Black individuals and groups who have changed Maryland for the better through service. We acknowledge the role of culture and service in creating a stronger, more vibrant community and are honored to celebrate these six individuals and groups. All six of our recipients have demonstrated exceptional contributions to Maryland’s rich history of service, volunteerism and heritage.
